I know it says to limit soy in the superhero diet, but does that just mean processed soy? Edamame is my "go to" snack almost every day, do I have to give that up?

I don't know what edamame is, but I think the key is to listen to your body and go with what feels right to you. A couple years ago I tried going vegan and switched to soy everything (milk, meats, not to mention what's in processed foods) and my thyroid flipped out. Soy can cause thyroid issues, I came to find out (on my own, mind you... my doctor didn't think my new diet change had anything to do with it... ha!). Well, this time around I've learned that I don't, in fact, need milk at all, and when I do use it for a recipe I stick to almond, rice, or coconut milk. When I need cheese, I buy rice cheese instead of soy cheese. Those are the biggest changes I've made and have had zero thryoid issues, or any other issues, since going vegan a couple months ago. I think as long as you're not eating the edamame, AND soy milk, AND soy cheese, AND soy meats, AND other soy stuff on a daily basis, you're probably fine. :-) If you don't want to give up the edamame (and I don't think you need to, personally), then just watch other ways soy might come in your body and limit those.
