Superhero Breastfeeding and gassy baby

I am breastfeeding (exclusively) my 4 month old daughter and have been vegan through pregnancy and nursing.  I have been following Superhero guidelines for last two weeks.  My daughter has been very fussy infant, and seems to get TERRIBLE gas when I eat beans, garlic, or cabbage/broccoli.  I still eat tofu a couple times a week but am afraid I am not getting enough protein without the beans as I don't want to go overboard on fatty nuts. Anyone have experience with this or advice for other sources of protein?

Hi Danika,

I am no expert, but the only thing I can think of quinoa and spinach...they are super high in protein...lots of greens and veggies, have protein as well...also if you make green smoothies or fruit smoothies add 1/2t of spirulina that will boost your protein...oatmeal, steel cut oats, nut butters all of these things have protein...she might be allergic to soy...I have a friend whose daughter is 9 months and has a soy/dairy allergy...lets see Tahini 1 tablespoon has eight grams of protein...also chick peas...altho that might make her gassy as well...

best of luck
