thanksgiving menus

I already did Thanksgiving in Canada this year..all home-made

The menu included roasted eggplant stuffed with cornbread and drenched in mushroom gravy, caramelized onion tarts, philly beefless kaobs, garlic stuffed mushrooms...hmm...may want to do a repeat performance just for fun!

Here are the recipes: http://www.marystestkitchen.com/2011/09/vegan-thanksgiving-project-2011/

these look great! i just had Souen in new york - vegan & macrobiotic. http://www.livelovenyc.blogspot.com/

Yum these sounds really good. Some great ideas for recipes in here for me to make too. Thanks for sharing. I might make and adapt a couple and show them on my blog. :)

Whole foods is offering a Vegan Dinner for two so my husband and I are doing this since it will just be us and our three year old daughter (who will be very pleased to just have a smoothie and some vegan mac and cheese).  I was very happy to see Whole Foods offering this:}

Wow!  This all looks so wonderful.  I wish that I lived closer to LA so that I could enjoy these wonderful restaurants.  As I'm the only vegan in my family, and the omnis don't want their "traditions" "messed with", I'll be eating a vegan meal, that I will prepare, while everyone else is eating their usual.  We'll eat together, but we will be eating from a different menu.  I'm not sure what I'm preparing for myself yet, but it will be yummy and vegan!  I will also sponsor two turkeys at Farm Sanctuary and I'll do that later this week.  Next year, I hope to be able to take a trip to Farm Sanctuary, around thanksgiving, to visit all of the animals and spend time with them in addition to the sponsoring.   Happy Holidays everyone!

We are ordering the Whole Foods Vegan Holiday Meal and making our own dessert.  Here is their menu: Wild Rice Cranberry Roast  En Croute, Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans with Shallots & fresh herbs, Roasted Cinnamon Dusted Butternut Squash, Fresh Cranberry Relish, & vegan mushroom gravy.  All for 14.99 per person!

This post made me incredibly homesick (Where I am at now, the word vegan and/or vegatarian = fad & joke).

All of these restaurants have great food (even on non-holidays). I miss just being able to pick up the phone to order.

I hope everyone here who celebrates a very Happy Thanksgiving 2011!

Like Patty, I'll be the only one in my family who won't be having turkey.  : )   There is a place in Orlando Florida called Dandelion CommuniTea Cafe that is offering a vegan and gluten free Thanksgiving menu of a Marsala Mushroom Nut Loaf, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Roasted Root Vegetables, Cranberry Ginger Sauce and Corn. Single serving is $14.95 or $49.95 and feeds a family of 4.  Happy Thanksgiving All!  smiley-smile.gif

Definitely cooking it from scratch.  My whole family is getting together and we will all be contributing our favorite dishes.  I am contributing the vegan anf Gluten-Free pies, my favorite pear cranberry sauce, stuffing, and an undecided veggie dish (perhaps carmelized brussels sprouts).  Yum!

Happy Thanksgiving!

:)

I'll be going to Thanksgiving dinner with my (non-vegan) family. I volunteered to bring a few dishes so I'm kind of excited to be making and bringing some vegan food to it. This is my first vegan Thanksgiving (my one-year vegan anniversary is coming up in Feb.) and I think it will be a good opportunity to introduce my family to some good vegan food.

My family and I are traditionally celebrating the love in our home as spiritual beings, that are pausing on this Turkey Mourning day, with a few thoughts about the loss of life that is sacrificed in the disguise of morality in our society, with this Holiday Entree-

Hey thanks Smiley I live in Melbourne FL, good to know. However I am making all my own goodies from scratch.  Millet, brown rice and flax bread stuffing with delicata squash and sage, brown gravy, whipped cauliflower and braised seitan....YUM! Oh yea, apple pie and maybe a raw pumpkin cheesecake....yeah, I like to cook:)

I'm really sick of these UGG "commercials" popping up.  Can't someone do something about this?
