the greenest high school award goes to…

Awesome! I switched out non-dimmables to CFLs, but I'm sure not every bulb makes its way to a mercury recycling center and all that mercury (4-5mg per bulb) has got to add up over time. I must try out one of those LED bulbs sometime, but at $50 dollars per light that could be expensive! I also wonder whether the enviromental savings from losing less energy outweigh the enviromental cost of production.

I still believe eliminating livestock (by not eating animal products) is the most effective way an indivudal can reduce their enviromental impact - but I don't see that on the list.

The K-8 school where I work recently implemented Meatless Mondays at the cafeteria. :) I definitely need to get better about remembering my reusable bags.  Right now I'd say I use them about 75% of the time.

So impressed ... I've sent this to my nephews to read for their school.  smiley-smile.gif

There are some great things happening in schools here in California. Check out Enrichla.org - we are putting an edible garden in every school, and continuing the green education after! Small steps - big results!!!

Love it!! Hopefully this will inspire other schools, and even entire districts to follow suit  : )

Love it, it is go great to see such great environmental contributions. I have never heard of a "Power walk" it sounds awesome.Hopefully other schools now will become inspired.

Wow!Those highschool students and staff worked hard with alot of effort to do those wonderful things they did. I hope my highschool will be the greenest school too- but I doubt it. Be green and the worlds global warming problems'll go down with time and effort to make the world and air cleaner.smiley-smile.gif

This highschool is a few cities away from me...who knew they were doing all of these amazing things!  Keep up the good work!
