Tracy Anderson Method
I am wondering if anyone else has done the Tracy Anderson Method and what your results have been? I am contemplating on getting the next 3 that she put out on Feb 05th, wondering if anyone else is doing them? Thanks! :)Lilly
HI- i bought it last year, i couldn't do the dance routines, and i used to dance...found them so hard to pick up and the music etc bored me. However i loved the matwork, but got ill before i could give it a fair shot. i reckon if you can master the routine's it should bring good results. good luck
Thanks so much! I use to be an avid runner but I notice my legs bulk quick.... :( lol! So I am wanting to buy her 'newer' ones but it's like 100.00 for just 3 of the new DVD's so I was hoping that 'someone' somewhere has something to say about them, lol! Thanks for your response btw, I was thinking that nobody had heard of her! haha.PSHow'd you get your picture on your profile picture, I can't figure that out?  Thanks!
i was training for a marathon but unfortunately got a severe form of arthritis which had me in hosp for a month, so that was running out! I've got really skinny legs but you do build muscle in your legs from running for sure. I personally was really dissapointed with the dvd - the cardio one, i just couldn't  master the routines and would get so frustrated.
I'm taking up swimming - so good for fitness as it tones every muscle and you use every muscle in swimming!
As silly as it sounds, i can't remember how i put my picture up but it was really simple. If you message Jason (part of TKL team, and he'll automatically be your friends, on the list) he's really quick to reply and really helpful.
I think I messaged Jason last night? I haven't heard anything back yet? Thanks for the help. I am so sorry about your hospital stay, I was reading on your profile tho that they expect a full recovery in 6 months? Is that correct? That is so crazy b/c you are so so so young! I hope you start feeling better from here on out! :) How long have you been doing the 'kind diet' and are you going full superhero or do you do the vegan or flirting? I am curious with ppls results. Thanks!
I have been doing a workout called "THE FIRM," and I LOVE it! It is transforming my body and believe me I have tried EVERYTHING OUT THERE. You can get the DVD's on line: www.thefirmdirect.com
I picked up my 1st DVD at a beauty store, on a whim, after my doc told me to increase the intensity of my exercise to try and get my cholesterol down naturally. It was their "500 Calorie Burn" and it kicked my butt, was challenging, and fun all at the same time. It took me about 3 workouts before I got the moves down and could really put my all into it. They promise results in 10 workouts, YEAH WE'VE ALL HERD THAT BEFORE, RIGHT.... but I was seeing beautiful muscles and a slimmer lower body in 7 workouts. I found more DVD's for super cheap at TJMAXX and TARGET ranging from $5-$8, and the $8 one came with a workout ball and DVD!
I am so close to having the body of my dreams, I never thought it was possible.
I have tried working out 9+ hours a week in the past, taking classes 5 days a week, doing pilates, yoga, kick boxing, you name it, and THE FIRM actually works! The workouts range from 30 min-1 hour, some times I do 2 of them, they really make me feel great.
Being new to the vegan lifestyle (4th week in) I was a little worried about my energy and getting enough protein, but I'm doing great so far!
Best to you ladies!
Peace,
Cassi
ah thank you. I'm really struggling emotionally at the moment, i'm on drugs and steroids and had a futher massive steroid injection which has pumped loads of steroids in, they make you have bad mood swings (although mine are just stuck on low and fed up!)
I am doing well physically, i can now walk which is good, now juat trying to get off all the meds so they can see how i'm really healed etc undernearth. I reckon i should be off meds and okay in another 3 months lthough mu parents keep reminding me that i'm not well and have to give in to that. I was really ill and got it so baldly. i'm not very good and playing sick! I just have to accept it i guess.
Yes, i read TKL when i was i hospital and went vegan, i am pretty much superhero, i eat all the beans and seaweeds etc, but i don't beat myself up about it too much, i sometimes not strong enough to make my own meals and i'm alone in the day.
let me know if you get the  dvds and how you get on!
really nice to talk. x
Helly, you seem like a strong young lady! You will get thru this! That's awesome that your full blown superhero! :) That takes lots of 'control'! :) It's easy to be 'down' tho when you are sick or stressed... I get that! I wish you the best and I will let you know about the dvd's if I get em... they are hard b/c it takes so much time 'learning' b4 you can have a vigorous workout..... That part is hard!
Cassi! That's awesome, thanks! I will look into those then, maybe I will check out Amazon for reviews too. I don't have a 'problem' running but it does seem to 'bulk' my legs and I really want em thinned.... lol. I use to run 6 miles a day 6 days a week! So... go figure... haha. I really liked the Tracy ANderson dvd's (the first ones) but they get boring quick... Maybe I will look at the firm... I like a very hard workout that makes me sweat to death! haha. So if it's one of those, then I am sure I will like it. BTW...when did you start the diet (kind diet)? And do you actually notice any difference? You said 4 weeks ago?
Lilly, I totally understand, I tend to carry my weight in my lower body and when I workout at the gym seem to gain way too much muscle in my legs.
The FIRM is slimming my legs BIG TIME! I actually have pretty knees, ankles, and long hamstrings, even my calves have gotten slimmer. And my butt, well it is still a "booty" but a smaller, firmer bubble. My dad is amazed, he keeps grabbing the extra material on my jeans and commenting at how much room there is, I've actually gone down a size and they are loose now! They combine cardio and light-medium weights in every workout, pilates, yoga, dance, aerobics, kick boxing, and body weight resistance. They still have me guessing after 3 months and I am only doing 5 different work outs.
I would start with the "500 calorie burn" It was my 3rd workout before I was really able to begin to keep up. I have NEVER had SO MUCH FUN working out. It's been 3 months, I've lost several pounds and gained beautiful long, lean muscles. Only 7 pounds to go!

I do see quite a few differences with TKD. My skin is doing a total turnover and is radiant. Strangers come up to me and comment on my glowing skin almost everyday. My emotional eating has really subsided, I think getting rid of dairy and simple sugar has really made a HUGE difference. I don't have that constant sluggish feeling I used to get after I ate beef, eggs, and chicken. I just feel lighter all around. And losing a few pounds, just going superhero for most of the day, has been a really nice difference. Lunch and dinner, I eat superhero, bfast I still have oatmeal with fruit. I also have a TKD rice crispy treat or mini TKD PB cup everyday. I still eat an apple a day with a handful of almonds. This has been a new adventure and I think it will be sustainable. My mom is also giving TKD a try. We have been omnivores our whole lives, seeing the changes in me has inspired her to give it a try.
I hope this info helps!
Peace,
Cassi
That's crazy. I always feel like if I don't get enough cardio and if they mix in weights then I feel like I am not getting 'enough'? Does that even make sense? lol. Ok, well maybe I will check out my TJMaxx and see if they have any, which I know that they all carry so different... it's kind of odds and ends, but I've found awesome stuff there b4, didn't even know they had DVD's. Thanks again! Superhero would be so hard!!! I don't know that I could do that? I haven't even attempted any of the recipes yet, I bought a few different sandwich things, like tofu turkey, or Tofurky? It's like oven roasted or something to put on my honey whole wheat? I haven't had any coke today, it's really hard and I am just hoping that I can see some kind of result soon, b/c it's hard for me!!!
hey lilly!

i haven't ordered tracy's new dvds yet (and my friends who did haven't received it yet.  hm...)  but i did get her matwork dvd about a week and a half ago and i am LOVING it.  i've done the workout 7 times now, and i already notice a difference -- especially in my arms.  they're getting smaller and more dancer-like.  yay!

i am noticing that my legs aren't changing very much, and i want them to get smaller.  i'm a cyclist, but hate the way it bulks my quads and butt, so i thought tracy's method might help.  not yet. i'm thinking of going on amazon and getting one of her older dance cardio dvds -- my friends saw great results when the coupled the dance dvd with the matwork dvd (which is what she recommends, go figure).

one more thing: you can go on tracyandersonconnect.com and buy webisodes for $10 -- she updates them frequently in an effort to keep your body guessing.
hope that helps,
Melissa

I am addicted and ONLY do her method now!
Her method has seriously transformed my body.
I lost over 45lbs and by sticking to her unconventional workouts I have toned and tightened my body in ways I never dreamed possible!

Every now and then I will throw some running into the mix of things, even though Tracy says "its bulks".

I have all of her OLD DVD's but am awaiting the NEW DVD's to arrive in the mail soon (fingers crossed!)

If you go on youtube, tracyandersonmethod.com, tracyandersonconnect.com and even on Gwen's site Goop.com you will find a few mini videos that show more of her moves.

Honestly, every body is different, what works for one person may not work for another, but with Tracy, me and any of my friends that I have recommended it to all have fallen in love with the way their bodies look now!

Bottom line it all comes down to consistency.  Hope that helps ya! =)
Thanks you girls! I love the first two dance dvd's and I also  have the mat dvd and I look forward to buying the other 3 new ones that just came out! :) I just have a really hard time doing 2 hrs everyday like she reccomends! Do you do it for the 2 hrs a day Gina? I have been on the Goop website and I like that one too! I am hoping to order those others soon please let me know if you get the new ones and how you feel about em! :) Thanks!Lillysmiley-smile.gif
Hi Gina - I had never heard of Tracy Anderson before reading this thread, but now you have me interested.  For someone who has worked out all her life and is pretty fit, what would you recommend I try from her collection?  Can I go straight to Sequence 2 or 3, and Dance Cardio 2, instead of starting at the beginning?  If I can only buy 2 or maybe 3 dvd's, which one's do you think I should try?
Thanks!
