LOVE shishkbobs (I can't spell). I par-bake (partially bake) slices of tofu.
Press water out of super-firm tofu
Get out the pan
Brush with olive oil
Place slices on pan
Stick in oven that is pre-heated to 375
cook on one side 20 min
Flip over and cook another 20 min
Cube and put on a skewer
Then I get other veggies I like and put them on skewers (put the same veggies on the same stick, that way don't have to worry about the difference in cooking times of the vegatables)
Throw the different skewers on the grill and remove each when they are cooked to your liking (I love cooking onions to where they have a little char on them, nicely smokey and sweet)
I put BBQ sauce on the tofu. I use Austin's Own's hot chipotle, it is a typical texas style sauce, but you might prefer one that is from your area. If the BBQ style in your area is more of a dry rub than a sauce most store bought rubs are vegan, just use the rub on the tofu before par-cooking.
