Hi Kind Lifers...

I'm coming up on my first vegan birthday, and I haven't yet ventured into vegan baking so I'm not familiar with the usual ingredients and substitutes. I'm doing my research, but I thought I'd put the question out here, too... Does anyone have any great go-to cake recipes?

All of "Chef Chloes" cupcake recipes are easy to make and beyond amazing!!  (chefchloe.com)  ...no crazy ingredients either, totally simple.  My favorite are the coconut cupcakes if you like coconut (my non veg family members go crazy whenever I make them, they're delish, happy bday and happy baking :)

I made this cake: http://www.instructables.com/id/The-BEST-chococlate-cake-ever...that-happens-to-be/ for my mom's birthday. Everyone (carnivores and vegans alike) agreed that it was the BEST chocolate cake we had ever had. It was so moist, and so, so chocolately. Absolute heaven. 

I can't wait to make it again. 

I used ghirardelli cocoa powder. Not sure if that made a difference or not.
