Who else is cloth diapering?

I've been cding for almost two years now and find it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. No yucky chemicals against baby's skin, and no diapers in the landfills to sit around for hundreds of years. Not to mentions saves quite a lot of money too! Always a plus:-)

hey celeste-my hubby and i might start "trying" soon and i'm so into the idea of cloth diapering...what brand do you use?? i saw a post on here about "lollidoos" that sounded promising....

my son is four and I still get excited over cloth diapers! I know there is a lot of brands that use wool and I wanted to suggest buying a pair of gdiapers. They are biodegradable and flushable, perfect for the road trip diaper or visiting family! I don't know how familiar you are but one type of cloth diapers are called pocket diapers, I like them a lot because they are usually a lot less bulky and messy. I didn't use the lollidoos but they look like a good investment because they grow with your child. Good luck!

My baby is 17 now, so it's been a while and I know I don't need to sell anyone on the idea of cloth diapers, but I have to rave that while all my friends' disposeable wearing babies were getting diaper rash like mad, my little girl only had just the littlest rash when she was teething. I give the credit to cloth diapers and breast milk instead of formula. How wonderful that your generation of mommas has all kinds of support on sites like this one!!

Be careful with gdiapers. If you are in an old house, they can actually clog the plumbing. Still better for tossing than regular daipers, though - if you feel there are times when you need disposables.

I cloth diaper part time, we use gdiaper covers with cloth liners. I tried the flushable inserts but my son got a horrible rash every time we used them, I have read some questionable things about what they are made of. I really love the gdiaper covers though.

Been CDing for almost 2 years as well and it is also the best decision I've made other than going vegan!  I use mainly kissaluvs fitteds with thirsties covers. Kissaluvs makes a great newborn fitted and it fit my baby for the first 7 or 8 months! However, the size 1s have lost a lot of snaps. If you care about ease of use I would go with bum genius all in one diapers for day care providers and grandparents. Its not much more expensive than the two step system. Either way though, its easy and fun!

Look for web sites with free shipping too!

It's been a long time since I cloth-diapered (my girls are 12 and 9 now!), but I loved it and would definitely do it again. My littlest has super sensitive skin but never had a diaper rash. I'm not sure what brand I used - covers with pre-folds mostly. I had a few of the "All in Ones" that love2beme mentioned. They were much less intimidating for the grandparents and other occasional babysitters :)

Wow ladies! I'm so happy to see that a lot of you have or do cloth diaper. We mostly use Gro-Via all in ones/all in two's. Or Bumgenius Flip diapers. When my kids were newborns we used newborn prefolds w/covers, sustainablebabyish xs fitted, or Rumparooz lil joey's. I do have a few gdiapers that I use with the cloth inserts, I've never used the flushable ones. As some of you said rashes are pretty much non-exsistent with cloth.

http://www.happybabycompany.com/ is an awesome site that ships free.

This brick and mortar store is local to me in Pittsburgh. It is owned by a husband and wife. They are super helpful to make your cloth diaper experience a breeze.

These are the best cloth diapers I have found. I love that they grow with your baby. You can get different size inserts and different materials. They are cute too!

I cloth diapered my nephew, son and daughter. (19, 15 and 4 years old) They have all grown out of that stage now. Well, almost my daughter is so close to being fully potty trained.

I just saw this post - any of you wonderful Kind Lifers who would like to try LolliDoo - please go to www.LolliPlace.com and use the discount code: KINDLIFE for 10% off your order.

Just a little FYI - LolliDoo™ Diapers are made from recycled fleece and/or organic cotton.  There isn't any PUL in our diapers and even the snaps are recycled.

If you have questions you can email me directly alison@LolliDoo.com

My youngest daughter is almost six so its been a few years but I loved Cloth Diapers. We used cloth most of the time ,except on longer trips then we used disposable, but it wasnt often.

My grandma who raised six boys used to use the plain cloth cotton diapers ,wash and hang them on her clothesline to dry,she used diaper pins and potty trained very early. We have it easier since those days but she always said it was much more healthy and economical that the tons of disposables we go through each year in this country.

I used a local service back then that is no longer in business but we have a new local business that sprouted up since then and has had great reviews from friends and family.

We are in the ENDLESS wait of an adoption right now....but when we finally bring a baby home, we plan to cloth diaper.  We have all the little diapers washed and ready, the green detergent and diaper bag etc.  I will be checking back here regularly for support etc when we are finally matched.

I am in Australia, so I am not sure whether the nappies we use are available in the USA. We use Baby Beehinds multi-fit. The multi-fit have either a bamboo or hemp booster and cloth insert. We could use either because of where we live - the weather! I cannot believe how well the sun bleaches them! Check out www.babybeehinds.com.au they have a lot of great information about cloth nappies even if you are not in their delivery zone. It is a husband and wife team and when you ring their hotline that is who you talk to, I love it.

We used disposables at first, I really think that I would've given up on cloth if I started with them for baby number 1. If number 2 comes along we will start with cloth, we are much more confident now.

@Kaava, I wish you all the best on your adoption, you will find your baby.
