My awesome fantastic sister posted about your book and website on facebook. I was so curious that I checked it out and became a life changer!!!! Even if I don't win the book,THANK YOU. Because of you, your book/website, and all your members I will be around for many years to play with my beautiful grandson

Hi Alicia!

I discovered TheKindLife.com while browsing the internet for vegan recipes. I simply had to try your pecan pie (which was impossible 'cause it's very hard to find pecan nuts in Portugal:) I used hazelnuts and it was delicious!)

I heard about your book and website from your Twitter. I was always constantly wondering what you were linking to and I finally came and checked it out! I was already a vegetarian, but your website and book (I borrowed from a friend) just really hit home for me. I had seen all the documentaries you mentioned, and when you just laid it out there for people to get, it all clicked. I absolutely thank you for helping me make the transition to vegan and an over all kind lifer! My boyfriend has even given up meat and dairy because of it!

Next up? Composting!

I discovered TheKindLife.com after seeing your appearance on The Oprah Show.  I find it to be inspirational and a great resource as I move towards a vegan life style.

I read "The Skinny Bitch" book and wnt cold turkey, and became a vegan.  I have never looked back.  Through their book I heard about your book.  Your book is now my food bible.  I have been a Vegan for three years and have never looked back.  It only gets better!  I buy your book for eveyone!  I have turned 2 of my daughters college friends vegan.  Every recipe in your book is delicious!

I received Christina Pirello's "I'm Mad as Hell and I'm Not Going to Eat it Anymore" for Christmas and read your introduction to the book. This prompted me to look for your blog. I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years, but became vegan about six months ago. I have been pleasantly surprised how easy it is to give up dairy and eggs, and I love learning new vegan recipes. I want everyone I know to become vegan!

I was ready for a lifestyle change and was browsing through a bookstore a stumbled across your book. Haven't looked back since!

How I came to buy The Kind Diet:

Saw the display in Barnes and Noble the day after a friend told me about the 'hot vegan guys' section in the book.  Sorry to say, that's what got me to pick it up.  I'd always been a vegetarian, but didn't really understand what a vegan was.  I thought maybe Alicia Silverstone could explain it to me in a language I could understand.  Plus, the hot vegan guys.

I was living in Mexico City and I was looking for vegan recipes online and I found your web site and order the book...And I love it! Not a SuperHero jet but trying really hard to live a kind life...even my boyfriend and our dog are into it! (by the way...anyone have any idea about vegan food for cats?)  Thanks Alicia!

Hello Alicia!! I discovered and fell in love with The Kind Life when I was researching making the wonderful transition from vegetarian-vegan. I was taking interest in celebrity vegetarians and vegans and your name came up! When I typed your name into Google search, this fantastic website came up in the search!

This is as accrate as I can remember.... Thank you :) x

I discovered it by seeing you on the Oprah show.

I discovered The Kind Life in a health magazine. It was right after the book came out & I was in the process of educating myself in order to make healthier choices & change my lifestyle (as opposed to jumping on a fad diet band wagon). I devoured the book in days - taken in by its friendly, straight-foward & oftentimes funny approach. I also liked how it presented The Kind Life in stages rather than advocating for a major overhaul all at once. I appreciate Alicia's efforts to promote lasting health & well-being. It has become a reference book for great recipes, reminders & goals to incoporate in every day.

I came across the Kind diet after reading Skinny Bastard by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. I had been following Alicai (sort of) through FB, but after finding out more, my wife and I got more into it. While the moral reasons for not eating animals are right up there in our reasons, the health benefits have really been the driving force. Befor being diagnosed with prostate cancer, I had begun this journey by eliminating all dairy. When given the news by my doctor, I knew that some life changes needed to be made. I was never a big meat eater so that was easy. Eliminating the rest wasn't difficult either. We just need to be mindful ALL the time, to read the labels before buying anything that is made so we try and make as much ourselves.

Best of luck to all in continuing on a much better lifestyle.

I originally saw you on a talk show discussing the book and the life.  While I didn't change my ways at that point it really stuck with me and for whatever reason I could not shake the fact that this is the best thing I could do. So, I went and got the book and it has really changed my life.  I have gone from almost 400lbs to now around 200 and while I have the book I would love the chance to give a copy to someone who I know needs this life change too.

I walked into Barnes & Noble and your book was on display.  I grabbed a cup of tea & got comfy on the floor between shelves of books to read it.  I remember getting teary eyed b/c I had no idea what was happening in the dairy industry.....and I felt so deceived.  I then became horrified and never ate meat to this day.  I then came home & tore out the pic in the book of you sitting on the kitchen counter - your husband's profile is hazy in the pic - and added it to my Vision Board.  I thought 'I want to be married, both be super into fruits/veggies, healthy and I want to look at my husband like that.  It's still up in my office (0:
