Worst eye irritation and runny nose EVER!
Ok so I heard about the detox symptoms and understand it might take awhile to get it all out- but wow I feel terrible!  I never get sick and for the life of me I can't stop blowing my nose, rubbing my eyes and feeling like my neck is too weak to support my head.  4 days now and its just getting worse!  I am not giving up but I am praying someone out there who has done this can guide me through!
Hi Sarah,
Are you on superhero? Have you started eating new vegan processed foods?

You may be reacting to something new, like a new food or ingredient.

The superhero plan might be a good way to get to the bottom of this reaction.  You may just be detoxing but it sounds rather intense for that, and it really shouldn't be getting worse.

Are you running a fever? Sore throat and body aches?

Let me know, Justin
I have been on the vegan plan for 3 weeks now and have been also experiencing the runny nose and the itchy, watery eyes just like Sarah (luckily I don't have the other issues - poor girl!).  Eczema has also developed on my eyelids and its quite painful and itchy.  I wasn''t sure if this was my body detoxing or if it was seasonal allergies... or maybe a combo of both?
As I live in a cold, dry climate I was considering that perhaps because I've removed a large portion of fat from my diet that maybe I need to add some flaxseed oil daily to help?
would really appreciate any advise or comments anyone may be able to lend.

Thanks,
Lauren
OH WOW!  I thought it was just me! My nose is so runny its chapped :( Its getting a bit better, I think.  Hopefully I will be back to normal soon. Feel better!! xoxo
Well still itchy eyes and runny nose but I think I have figured it out.  I must have a soy or wheat intolerance manifesting as allergic symptoms.  The only thing I changed is upping my intake of them while going cold turkey to Superhero.  Soy and wheat do cause skin hives and itching in kids alot, so I am going to have to do an elimination diet with them.  Any ideas on what in the world I can replace WHEAT TO BAKE with???
Sarah
Excellent detective work! You can easily eliminate the culprits. Check other threads by those who are soy or wheat sensitive to find ideas. For now, brown rice is your beat bet. All the veggies and beans, nuts, seeds, grains etc are OK!
Try eliminating soy first then if you are still symptomatic try eliminating wheat and oats (both have gluten).
