US Weekly

Hi everyone -

I wanted to show you this article from US Weekly magazine that highlights a bunch of neat actors (ok, I happen to be in there too) that are vegan! Two of them are ladies who have guest blogged for us on The Kind Life; Lea Michele and Olivia Wilde.

This is so cool, I love hearing about these great women who are getting the word out about a kinder lifestyle to such a huge audience!

If you were ever on the fence about being a vegetarian or vegan for that matter, read Eating Animals, by Jonathan Safran Foer.  Eating Animals is a  powerful, enlightening, horrifying, account on the treatment of farm animals in farm factories. One of the most difficult reads of my life!

Mayim Bialik(Blossom, Big Bang Theory) is also vegan!

We are turning the tide!  I don't get as many 'You're a what?" looks as I used to.

I can imagine a day when meat eaters have to do the explaining!

I am an actor that has been vegan for about 9 years, and I have a Vegan Bakery in Los Angeles, JAM Vegan Bakery! Love for the Vegan Actors =)

I went completely vegan about 8 months ago after nearly 28 years of being a vegetarian.  I have to say I feel great and it's the best decision I've made.  It's better late than never.  :)  I think that wherever your inspiration comes from it's a good thing.  Eating vegan is actually so fulfilling.  It's definitely the best I've eaten in my entire life.  I'll never go back to dairy again....

Glenn Beck is now a Vegan. All politics aside this is the most surprising one.

He did this for HEALTH REASONS.

Alicia, I have been wondering what your take is on Jennifer Goodwin's recent end to veganism. Any thoughts?

Denise, I just read that book about a month or 2 ago.  Even though I have been a vegetarian for about 6-7 years now, that book really got me thinking about going Vegan and/or Raw Foodist (without the meat parts).  So I must add my recommendation for all to read.  For too long, society has turned a blind eye to what is really going on with the foods they consume mostly with meat and dairy products.  As I read the horrific facts and stories, all I could think of was the holocaust in animal form.  There is still so many people who are in the dark about the situation and not enough is being done to solve this problem.
