I wanted to share a couple of amateur interview videos that I made for you. Here is the first one! I'm not proud of my production level, but I was in a rush and didn't want to miss the opportunity to interview these groovy dudes!

On a side note: back in 2000 (or around that time), I was in Jamaica with my dear friend Laura for a raw food convention. It was a great trip, complete with braided hair, naked swimming in the ocean, and lots of yummy food and adventure! After the convention, we traveled around. In Kingston, we stayed with Bob Marley’s mother, who is a friend of Laura’s. It was amazing!

One thing I remember were these huts/restaurants that served just a few dishes of the day – it was like their McDonald’s but vegan! It was very relaxed, with great music. Can you imagine? A hut with yummy vegan dishes and that's it - just a few dishes a day, nothing really to choose from, just a plate of deliciousness! I was so impressed by this. There are so many rastafarians there and they believe in veggie life, so that's why the veg restaurants were there. Anywho, they were great! They didn't say "vegan" out front or anything - they were just huts with great food and benches - simple and wonderful!

Bersham is a neat veg guy whom I wanted to introduce to you Kind Lifers! He’s a great role model for guys out there, who probably wouldn’t assume he is veg!

Have you had any amazing vegan meals while traveling? And what do you think of cute Bersham?

I love this! I have 3 extremely carnivorous brothers who all insist that being vegetarian is the most emasculating thing they could think of, but they've never seen Bersham.  Thank you for sharing this! It put a big smile on my face. :)

we LOVE going to jamaica for exactly that reason.  we went last year and again this past month.  it makes vacation so much more pleasant when you don't have to worry about compromising your diet or finding food you can eat!  i've written a lot of posts on my jamaica trips, but here's one i wrote specifically about being vegan on vacation: http://www.lovelifeandlollipops.com/2010/03/vegan-on-vaca/

jamaica has such an amazing vibe and energy that we love going back and back.  the food, the music, the beaches...

This is nice seeing a man not afraid to say he is a veggie. Your a hero!

I am thankful, thankful, thankful to learn something with every post. This is just beautiful. Beautiful energy, beautiful conversation, beautiful encouragement, beautiful conviction and beautiful soul.

It's great to see a variety of ppl supporting veg. Thanks for sharing.

(I didn't know that fact about Rastafarians and that really intrigues me now)

I'm making a recommendation for great vegan dishes if you are traveling to the gulf coast side of Florida near Bradenton Beach. The restaurant is actually located on Anna Maria Island, but is very near Bradenton Beach where we stayed. If you are ever near there, go to The Waterfront restaurant on South Bay Blvd. Try to vegan Edamame and Miso Purse entree: soybeans, rice and grains, miso, veggies and seasonings in rice paper purses over baby arugula and drizzled with tamari and olive oil. YUM!!! It was amazing. Our waiter was awesome and he actually served us fresh mango for dessert that he said his girlfriend grows in her yard. http://thewaterfrontrestaurant.net/dinnerMenu.pdf

Oh oh! My bff and I are going on a wellness cruise (Holistic Holiday at Sea) Feb. 27-March 6th and we stop in Ocho Rios, Jamaica! I'd love to find these huts!! Any location info you could bless me with? I'll take AnY feedback, as this will be my 1st trip to Rasta-Land!!

Alicia, although you might not be proud of your production skills, it is in fact this video which led me to adopt the vegan lifestyle.  In this video, he recommends a documentary "Earthlings".  I cried throughout the documentary.  I always felt like I was a hypocrite loving animals yet would turn around and consume them.  This documentary was exactly what I needed to see. So thank you very much for posting it!
