These are really good gift ideas. I've never used soy-based candles before but I am REALLY interested to start now!
I can't wait to find them and light them up and enjoy their yummy scents!
Where exactly can you find soy candles in Canada? ( I live in Toronto, Ontario)
I just ordered an ecosystem journal (I'm so excited!) for myself. I miss writing in a journal. I also just bought "The Kind Diet"... I've had my eye on it for 6-8 months now and been waiting for it at the library... I got some money for my birthday this week and thought I'd treat myself to your book and to a journal! How awesome! Thanks Alicia!
I have to say my favorite soy wax candles are hand-crafted by my dad! Our company is called It's All Good. Our candles are all natural. The wicks are eco-friendly and the wax is 100% soy. They smell so great!
The candles are handmade right out of our house! Based out of Philadelphia, the cop, turned teacher, turned candle maker takes custom orders too! The original ones come in white and off white to represent its purity, but we can make any scent or any color! We have a huge stock of scents. Right now I have Peppermint Patty in my room! YUM!
Check out the website! www.itsallgoodshop.com
Also, they are available in Cape May, NJ at Madame's Port and in Ocean City, NJ at Ocean City Coffee company on the boardwalk.
The jars are also 100% recyclable and our customers can return the jar to us for a new candle...or you can put fun things in them like spices, grains or beans!
Ecosystemlife: I posted this in the Forum section under Eco-Friendly Designers on 11/29/10, but I think it's a bit hidden there. So here it is again:
Last year, Alicia recommended planners by ecosystemlife.com. They use 100% post-consumer recycled paper and much more - check it out. I liked the idea and the description and purchased the smallest size. It was perfect for my small purse, and it held up extremely well with heavy use. They are available for 2011 and I just bought the monthly flexi-covered (it's water resistant - I've washed it), kiwi (it's a nicer color than is pictured on the website), "advisor" version ($14.17 incl shipping). It has each month spread over left and right pages, and between the months are two lined note pages so you don't have to squish details on the calendar. The last third is devoted to lined note pages for on-the-bus journaling, and there is a pocket in the back for stamps and vegan stickers, etc. It has an elastic band to hold things tight and it lasted all year and didn't stretch out!! I'm saying all this because the website doesn't do a very good job with their descriptions! It's a well-made product (USA), and I'm not being paid to say this.
Have a wonderful and kind 2011!
