eco laptop sleeves
Posted by Alicia Silverstone on Jan 13, 2010

Hey there – I found these cool recycled laptop sleeves and wanted to share.  They are made by NottyPooch, and I got mine on Etsy.com.  They’re kinda expensive, but super cool.  My husband and I just bought these for ourselves.  They are made out of recycled billboard material, which I love.

NottyPooch makes a bunch of other products out of recycled billboards... wallets, iPhone holders, Valentine's Day cards, storage bins, tote bags and more!  Such a cool company.

I'm thinking that to be even more eco, we could have made our own laptop sleeves...you could probably do it pretty easily.  But I’m happy I have mine.  It's so groovy looking, and does the trick.  And it's green!  It always makes me happy to find great products out there that reuse materials.

If any of you end up getting one of these laptop sleeves, let me know how you like it. Or, if you end up making one of your own, I’d love to hear how you did it!

also, i have a friend who owns a shop called reinvent that specializes in selling recycled goods - just like this - so i am going to send her the link to this kickass company!
Kind of a funny name, NottyPooch, it reminds me of the awesome dog bed I bought for our puppy made out of recycled plastic bottles from http://www.mountaingreengoods.com/
Thank you for sharing!! Love the coolness factor!

GorillaSacks.com also makes products in the US from recycled billboards and they donate 10% of profits to Gorilla Haven.rofits pp donates 10% ofall profits to Gorila Haven
These laptop covers are nice, but it feels funny to be thinking about shopping, when all the news is filled with sad news from Haiti.  Would it be possible to mobilize the "kind life" community to support a variety of charities?  There is a lot of need for kindness right now, and the community here seems like a great place to find some.
I have one of these, although mine is a bag rather than a sleeve. It has a repurposed seatbelt buckle as the clasp and the seatbelt itself as the strap. I absolutely love it, the material is so durable and it fits my laptop perfectly.
