Kaisey Success

Kind Lifer Kaisey recently shared reflections on her one year kind anniversary with me! Check it out:

“It has been one year exactly since I bought your book and became vegan, having been vegetarian for about five years. This past year has been the most wonderful year of my life, so far.

I still have to pinch myself when I think about how I've not had any illness within this last year. I regularly picked up colds, but I haven't had one in the last year. I also suffered continually from bad migraines and was never without some strong painkillers in my bag to help fight the next one off. I haven’t had a single migraine in the time that I've been vegan - it's just amazing! Sad to think that I used to believe I would just have to live with them.

When I look back, I feel like I wasn't really living properly, like I was living in a thick fog. Being vegan, for me, has kind of been like walking up from that fog. My head feels crystal clear! I have loads more energy, my skin looks alive, no more bad period pain. The list of pluses is endless!!! The best gift of all though, is the greater connection to my intuition, which has grown over the last year.

So, I thought I would commemorate my first vegan year by sending you a big thank you!”

Congrats on your first kind year, and a big thank you for sharing your story - I'm so happy for you! If anyone has a success story to share, private message me, or publish a note in your profile and “like” it. I may feature you on the homepage of The Kind Life!

Congrats Kaisey! It's great that you are on the vegan path!

"Being vegan, for me, has kind of been like walking up from that fog."   As a new vegan, this sentiment really clicks for me.  In my experience there's been such a feeling of coming into focus.  Well done, Kaisey.

Even if I would do things like recycle and use cruelty-free things whenever possible I'm less into "going green", but being vegan is definitely a thing I will do...

Congrats Kaisey! Great to hear how good you're feeling on a vegan diet. I have my slips and always feel the effects on my body, usually with fatigue and head ache, but often ignore the connection. When I get busy I eat more unhealthy foods in a rush then end up feeling sluggish or sick. I need to just keep remembering to take care of myself first and then I'll have a clear head and the energy I need to get the rest done. This is a good reminder that I can feel great by just paying attetion to my diet :)

Thanks to all for your sweet messages.  This site and all of you kindlifers have been such a great support and inspiration over the past year.  Btw, I don't usually pose with the British flag behind me smiley-laughing.gif This photo was taken on the day of the royal wedding, everyone got the day off, so girlfriends all across the Britain got together for tea parties and that all important look at the dress. I made the 'egg' sandwiches and chocolate chip crispy cakes from Alicia's book, they were very well received. smiley-smile.gif

Looooooooooove when people share their experiences and put all that great energy out into the world :)  Congrats Kaisey!  I like how you described it as walking out of the fog - it's so true!  It's been a little over a year that I've been vegetarian and I have been working on vegan.  For the most part I do eat vegan but I haven't been very consistent on looking at all of the ingredients in some of the things I eat so can't say I am vegan yet though I don't eat dairy, cheese, etc.  Anyhow, this is inspiring and we thank you and Alicia for sharing.  You never know how what you say will affect others ;)

Congratulations! :) I'm only at about 9 months but feel the exact same way!

Being vegan has changed my life so much - definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made! :)

I have so much energy, no sickness - when I was just vegetarian I used to eat a lot of dairy and I was sick so much - like every 3 or 4 weeks I'd come down with a cold. I'd feel so unhealthy and everybody used to say it was because I was vegetarian and I was getting so fed up I often did consider whether I should eat meat again. I'm so glad that I didn't decide in that way and read Alicia's book along with other books after seeing the Oprah Vegan show and I came to know that what was making me sick was probably the dairy and eggs and that by adding meat to that occasion too - ugh I can't even imagine how I would have felt.

I am so grateful for the power in vegetables! I only wish that the people around me would start noticing too and look into how they're eating. Well some are - my mum and her fiance have recently decided to go vegan after I forwarded them a link to gary yourofsky's video and even though they're only at the start where they're suffering a little bit from detoxing they are definitely feeling the benefits too :)
