Farm Sanctuary has been around since 1986, rescuing animals, lobbying for animal friendly policies, and promoting an animal-friendly lifestyle. This year, Farm Sanctuary is hosting its first ever conference to end factory farming. With factory farming in the news more than ever, it’s a perfect time for Farm Sanctuary to shine a spotlight on this issue on a national stage.

The National Conference to End Factory Farming: For Health, Environment, and Farm Animals is taking place October 27-29 in the Washington, D.C. area. The event will feature speakers such as Congressman James P. Moran, Whole Foods Market Co-CEO John Mackey, Food and Water Watch Executive Director Wenonah Hauter, China Study Author Dr. T. Colin Campbell and many more.

This conference is open to anyone, from professionals to concerned individuals. If you’d like to attend, registration is $150, and you must register by October 21. You can get details and register here.

If you can’t attend, you can still do your part at home, by maintaining your kind lifestyle and sharing it with your friends and loved ones. How do you combat factory farming in your daily life?

When it comes to famr factories, I do my part by informing mself and others in a tactful and educated way.  My daughter has recently become interested in being a vegetarian like me and is working on it one step at a time.  She talks about keeping chicks safe, and tells her sister about the importance of being a vegetarian.  Ages: 7 and 2.  it'ssuper cute, and encouraging at the same time.

Just wanted to post this link I was sent regarding Natalie Portman and healthy lunches in school.

Wow, those guys may actucally be taking a step towards no factory farming for that meeting that happened in October. I wonder how the meeting went.

Farm Sanctuary is awesome, man!

Thank you for sharing this information with all of us!  Sometimes its hard to hear about this stuff.  I cant wait to hear about wether you (Alicia) went or not, and if you did what it was like- also, I hope you got your picture taken with Colin Campbell!  His book (China Study) was awesome!

Wow, I love farm sanctuary even more now, they're so, so awesome!

Does anyone know what the result of the conference was?

Why cannot all of these individuals contribute to buy out the few agribusinesses that own the factory farms?
