Hi everyone – Thank you so much for being so engaged on the site and in the forum!  It is so great to see the feedback from people who are feeling great and loving the recipes in the book. I wanted to share a success story with you all that made me smile.  This girl is so inspiring!

Check out what Kind Life member Lindsay Wolf wrote in the forums:

“Hey Alicia!
Well, I have been posting comments on here since the beginning, because I am absolutely in love with all the work you're doing!
I have been vegan for 1 year now, and I think my success story can be summed up in one thing:

"Kiss Me, I'm Vegan!" is the blog I've been keeping for almost a year now (it officially has its first anniversary at the end of the month!). My blog has chronicled the crazy journey I've been on while living a vegan lifestyle, and I am so proud of it.
The real success for me has been the response from people who have visited my site. I've received amazing emails and comments from people who were curious about what my blog was covering - and the ripple effect of change that has resulted from their reading my words.

Like you, I've been acting since I was young, and it has been my greatest passion. That is, until I went vegan. This lifestyle has become the greatest love in my life (well, besides my to-be husband - getting married next week!). :)
Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration and encouragement during my journey. Thank you for radiating goodness with every book tour interview you do. Thank you for reminding me to continue on with my journey as a blogger and activist.
And if my blog can be a success story, I will be a happy girl. :)”

Lindsay’s blog is great, and she is so spunky and warm, and her heart is just huge!  It’s just pouring out of her beautiful face, and I thank god for her, she really is an inspiration for all of us.  Lindsay, I am sending you so much love and I am so thankful for you!  Your bags are cute too, and I love the Woodstock photos.  Congrats on your husband to be!

Lindsay is also the one who put together the concert in New York that benefited NY animal sanctuaries!

Thank you for sharing this blog. I watched the undercover investigation of the pig farm and that was one of the hardest videos I have had to watch. I sobbed as I watched it, but I'm glad I made myself sit through it. I'm only in my second week of being vegan and I was SO tempted when I ate out with friends tonight. Now I'm SO glad I didn't eat any meat tonight. Watching this video just reminded me of one of the reasons I am doing this and re-energizes my willpower. I cannot watch this video and then eat meat knowing the cruelty that went into the process. How can anyone? Those baby pigs were so cute, and those animals truly felt pain. You could hear it, you could see it. I wish more people would be willing to open their eyes to the meat industry and face the reality of the true cost of what America eats every day.
I LOVE YOU ALL FOR CARING SO MUCH!
AND LINDSAY CAME BACKSTAGE WITH HER HUSBAND THE OTHER DAY...AND I LOVED HER!!! THEY WERE BOTH SO SWEET AND SMART AND LOVELY...MY MOM LOVED THEM TOO!
AND LINDSAY SAYS SHE HAS BEEN VEGAN FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW...
STAY TUNED FOR HER BLOG ABOUT HER WEDDING....

Alicia and Lindsay,

I wanted to Thank both of you ladies for being inspiring. I started on my journey of exploring healthier food options. Like you, I grew up eating meat and not paying any mind to all of those gorgeous fruits and veggies.

I can't tell you what swayed my decision to change. Honestly, it was something organic inside me that wanted change. I've done a lot of research on vegetarian and vegan lifestyles these last eight months. I feel so much better and lighter now and you're right Alicia, it's in and out of the bathroom. Gotta love it, besides the feeling of well being. I ordered the Kind Diet, read it from front to back and proceeded to try my first recipe. I cooked the collard greens and used craisins and roasted sunflower seeds. I marinated some tofu with shoyu, garlic and a spicy chili sauce then I baked it. The greens on top of some brown rice mixed with quinoa and the tofu was Incredible.

Your recipes are so easy, yet bountiful and delicious! Thanks again and Lindsay, I will be checking out your blog.

Lindsey-
Hey, Since I'm from NY- keep me updated on fundraisers and all your doing I may just join you and help in supporting all your efforts- and spread the word to all around me!!
Alicia - we loved you too!!! :) You are just one of the most amazing human beings! And my husband, Steve, and I completely agreed that you are hands down one of the best listeners we've ever met - you listen with so much presence and depth, and that is such a refreshing thing to be around. :) And your mom was so beautiful and nice!! I am so happy to have gotten to cross paths with you, and I'm even more excited to cross paths again in the future. :)
Aw Alicia, I love YOUfor caring so much! And Lyndsay...wow...just wow...you and Alicia and the KL'ers make me know there's good in this world...and how woefully inadequate I am - and wait wait, that's a GOOD thing. It lets me know I've got a heck of lot more to do. ;-)

Wish I coulda been there, but it's sooo uber-cool to hear all about it.

GREAT blog, Lyndsay, keep that light shinin'.  When I'm deserving (and I'm doing great on the kickstart so I'm getting there), I'll GET that "Kiss Me I"m Vegan" wear - and I'll dang well get some kisses - LOL!
I'm so happy the event was a success! I had planned on attending but ended up having to work.

Lindsay, I'm good friends with Ben Strothmann (isn't the vegan world small?) and he says you're an absolutely lovely person! I hope we run into each other one of these days. I adore your blog and wish you the best!
