Calling all Detroit Kind Lifers - I have an opportunity for you. As some of you know, I'm shooting a movie in Detroit in a couple of days and my rock star assistant, Megan, is here with me to cook meals. She's going to be cooking for 5 or more people which is quite the undertaking.

We're looking for people with experience in the Royal Oak area that would want to intern along side Megan. You don't necessarily have to be a chef, but if you are that's super awesome! Basically you just have to be quick on your feet and be willing to learn The Kind Diet. Or, if you don't want to cook, you could even be in charge of delivering food to the set. Delivery areas will be about 30 minutes away from where all cooking will be going on.

The people you will be cooking for are mostly non veggies, besides me, so it's an exciting thing we are doing because we are aiming to seduce and inspire them by giving them food that will make them feel amazing.

So if you are interested in getting some experience under your belt as a chef, a personal assistant, or just want to get experience cooking, etc. send me a personal message that is your "letter of intent" listing your qualifications and such.

Hi Alicia,

I'm an Entertainment Host here in MI and sent you a message!

For the rest of the Kind Lifers from Michigan, check on my blog about my favorite places to eat vegan in Grand Rapids:

Rini- my boyfriend just moved to Indy. Can you suggest some great vegan spots? We are searching for some good ones!! Thanks so much!

I am moving to Windsor, Ontario... just a hop away from detroit... I am newly vegan and love my new vegan life :)... I have been vegetarian for almost 2 years now, and have been cooking vegan 'gourmet' meals with my veggie friends for the past 2 years of university, basically just flirting with the idea of veganism up until about 3 weeks ago.... This past school year, my four roommates and I got this great little idea of each of us cooking one vegan meal per week, using recipes from various vegan cookbooks, blogs, and websites... We had a copy of your cookbook at our house and frequently used your recipes... since moving out of our house, each of us now own a copy of your cookbook and I get so excited to try new vegan delicacies! This would be SUCH an amazing opportunity, as being vegan is a huge part of my life and this would be a wonderful beginning to my already amazing new vegan lifestyle.

Thanks so much!

Jennifer

If ever you stretch your arms out to Canada and need help in Montréal Québec (and belive me Montréal could stand to be a lot kinder), I'm your woman!

Alicia and Megan,

I live in Pinckney, Michigan, not far from the Royal Oak community and would be delighted to be chosen to assist Megan in any way!  I have been flirting with the Kind Diet ever since I saw you on the View.  Soon after, I watched Food Inc. and I was horrified by what I learned so much so that it solidified my desire to forge a healthy food legacy for myself and my children.  I would welcome the opportunity to intern with Megan, learning all that I can!  Thank you for spreading the message of the Kind Diet!

Angela Miller

Please note!!!

The Holiday Market in Royal Oak is totally appropriate.  I hit the wrong button at the wrong time.

When I used to live in Royal Oak, my daughter and I shopped there all the time!  She still remembers it as one of her favorite places.  It is a bit odd to walk through the bread room to get to the rest of the market - but it is wonderful!

Hello,

Welcome to Royal Oak!! This is an amazing town and I hope you enjoy being here.I am a native to Royal Oak and am very familiar with neighboring communities. I have been working as a Catering/Event Coordinator in Royal Oak, and through my experience I have created multiple contacts in the area which include and support local farming, specialty grocery stores, and vegan bakeries...not to mention our amazing restaurants that support all of your dietary needs. I am creative with food combinations and enjoy creating well balanced meals/menu plans for all palates including my 5 year old daughter and my husband  who are my favorite critics. I work well with others, I am reliable and consider myself a true team player! I am confident that I can assist you in any capacity both in the kitchen or out. Consider this my letter of intent...hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,

Rhonda Richter

**If you are interested, I can provide you with a more detailed list of my qualifications.

Hi Alicia & movie crew:

Your job offer sounds like fun!  What is Summer without a little exploration and trying different things?

I'm an unemployed Mom, former advertising exec and very involved in Girl Scouts.  That means - I can virtually do ANYTHING!  Cook, clean, slice, dice, wash, drive, administer CPR, camp out cooking and hey, I refinished a deck recently and am working on the wood furniture.  Plus, I've been pretty serious about being a a vegan for a year or so, have your book and made the oatmeal cookies.

I'd like another adventure, even if it is only for a week or so.

Thanks!

While I'm sure you've already found someone to intern with you, I'd love to write a little letter of intent in case you are in need of any help during the rest of your filming.

I'm a theatre student at the University of Michigan and am looking to become more involved in veganism and hopefully someday enter into a career in vegan activism. I am familiar with the Kind Diet and have interned at the Irish Repertory Theatre in New York City as well as worked in food service, customer service, and run my own Children's Theatre Company. I've been a vegetarian for 21 years (since birth) and a vegan for two, and am very passionate about spreading the compassion of veganism - I'm hoping someday to combine my love of theatre with my love of treating the environment and animals with the respect they deserve.

I am not sure if this is where to post such a letter of intent, and I'm sure this is a huge longshot, but who knows, if anyone sees this and needs help on or around the set, I have resumes galore.

Thanks,

Erin
