Macro Cooking Classes

Macrobiotic chefs Karen and Laura are kicking off the summer with more cooking classes! This time, they’ll be featuring summer grain dishes, warm weather soups, cooling salads, fresh and light desserts, and protein-rich energy foods. If you’re in LA and you want to be more superhero, or if you’re already superhero and just want to expand your repertoire, this is a great place to start.

Classes start May 17 in Studio City. Call Karen at 818.766.8804 for directions and reservations.

this would be great if it was either on the weekend or inland.  nothing worse than la traffic.

Any chance that Karen, Laura, or Alicia know of something similar in The Bay Area or Northern Cali??!! I am super interested!!!!!!!

Not in LA, but would love to take one of these classes.

My husband and I took Karen and Laura's last class and loved it!  I highly recommend their class and we'll definitley be taking more.  And, it doesn't hurt that they're fabulous people and make the class a very personal experience.

Jennifer, I saw some vegan cooking classes at Whole Foods off of Kirby.  Not sure how often they offer them there, but that might be an option... :)

Christy, I just found out about the superhero classes in Dallas!  I'm so excited!  I would really love to be more superhero but am not creative or know exactly how to follow the "guidelines."

Have you already posted all of your classes for June/July?

Barbara, for cooking classes in NYC, there's a new company called CourseHorse.com that helps you find all kinds of local classes - you can even sign up directly (I went to an awesome Sour Dough making class).  They've definitely got a bunch of great looking cooking classes worth checking out!

It's good to check Whole Foods or Central Market in your area for cooking classes.

@Jennifer Berry I'll be making my way down to Houston for my book tour in the fall and will give some cooking classes!

@Mimi I know the Bay area has a huge macrobiotic/vegan community and you should be able to find cooking classes. Palo Alto has a weekly Monday macro dinner, call Manzanita and ask them, also Laura Stec and Compassionate Cooks may be able to direct you.
