Yes!  I do the same thing.......Love Ava's idea. And it is awesome that she is only 14! 

Yay for your mom!! I do this too- saves money and the environment!! I have also been trying to re-use empty containers by putting the homemade cosmetics in. Like masks and body scrubs.

I sometimes put water in the bottom of an almost empty container and swish it around to get the residue sticking to the sides, it works for everything--- mustard, ketchup,  liquid soap, shampoo, or cans of tomato sauce (which become diluted tomato "juice").  Very thrifty. Also try depositing little pieces of soap in a little water and get instant liquid soap.  Just like Ben Franklin, probably, waste not want not. 

I conserve and use up alot of my makeup too.

Ha!  Cool!  Exactly what I have been doing for years too.  I use a silicone spatula too to extract every precious drop of my lotions.

My mom does the same thing... I find it comforting that she is not the only one
