my thanksgiving videos!
Posted by Alicia Silverstone on Jan 7, 2011

I know it’s a bit late, but over Thanksgiving, I shot some videos. this first one was when I was making pies and cranberry sauce for our Thanksgiving dinner.

Here’s the recipe for the pecan pie:

Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cup pecans
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup barley malt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamoon
  • 2 tablespoons arrowroot
  • 4 tablespoons roasted sesame tahini
  • 1 pre-made pie crust, or pie crust of your choice

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a food processor, mix until smooth all ingredients except the pecans.
  3. Then add the pecans and process until the nuts are chopped and mixed with the other ingredients.
  4. Pour this concoction into the pie shell.
  5. You can add extra pecans on top before baking for decoration.
  6. Bake for 45 mins to one hour, until the top browns slightly.

You may be relieved to know that my extra cinnamon didn’t matter one bit! The pie turned out to be really yummy.

Stay tuned for the next video from my Thanksgiving celebration!

Nice to see i'm not the only "spaz" in the kitchen! LOL!!  It all looks so yummy, i should have made your pecan pie :)

You made some hard work with your thanksgiving!

Hi Alicia,

Thank you for the tips!

:)

O my gosh, that looks wonderful.

Hi Alicia - are you pregnant?  You look radiant and a like you have a bit of a baby bump!  If you are, will you be writing about nutrition during pregnancy soon?  I am a vegan and TTC.  I'd love to hear more from you regarding this topic.

Everything looked delicious! Your family seemed to really enjoy it. By the way, when a violin plays bluegrass or country music it becomes a fiddle...LOL
