RecycledBride.com is the world's first eco-resale wedding marketplace. Most of the wedding dresses on Recycled Bride are at least half the retail price -- and it's a greener choice than buying a newly produced, manufactured, and transported dress.

They connect buyers and sellers of pre-owned wedding items -- wedding dresses, accessories, bridesmaids shoes, décor... Anything you need for your big day. They don't charge any listing fees or commissions, so it's completely free for brides to buy and sell.
RecycledBride.com also provides their users with information about the environmental, social, and financial benefits of resale. Additionally, the site donates 15% of all advertising revenue to Global Green USA which is pretty cool!!

Here are some words from Tracy DiNunzio, the founder of RecycledBride.com, on how she was inspired to start this company:

“I was inspired to start Recycled Bride because I was surprised by the amount of waste generated by my own wedding and friends' weddings, and I felt that there should be more resource-sharing platforms for brides so that we could all support each other and the environment while planning our celebrations.
A wedding is the only day in our lives that we buy oodles of single-use products, and may not consider the resources and energy that are used to create them. A wedding dress, for example, usually makes its way through a chemical dyeing process and is transported to three different countries before arriving on the sales floor. Once all of those resources are spent making your dress, and you’ve spent thousands to buy it, have it tailored, and get the perfect matching shoes and accessories, you wear all of it only once. You wouldn’t buy a car and drive it one time. So why do that with other expensive, energy-intensive items on your wedding day? And with 2.4 million weddings in the U.S. every year, wouldn't it be nice to be a part of reducing our collective bridal carbon footprint?”

Oh, this is so great! Thanks to everyone for all the links and info... this site is great! I am planning a vegan wedding myself at the moment, but it won't be until next year! My fiance and I are doing all vegan food (still looking into caterers), despite many eye rolls and snickers from our non-vegan family members. We will be using second hand mis-matched plates and silverware that we're collecting and vintage vases and jars for centerpieces. For flowers we're thinking of ordering a whole bunch from an organic florist and then supplementing with wildflowers. It's a lot of work, but I think it's a great opportunity to show everyone how elegant and delicious green living can be!
Mallory, all your ideas are great! Good luck with everything, and congratulations!
Thanks everyone :)
Brilliant! I wish I could have planned my wedding with you when I was married! That was almost 9 years ago and the day before digital photography was invented! Best of luck to you.
