Hi everyone – I wanted to share something that a childhood friend of mine wrote. Her name is Suzannah Scully, and we first met when we were 10 years old! I enjoy her writing, and like this post that she wrote. I hope it inspires you.
Accepting Dissatisfaction
"This week I got “Cesar Millan’ed”.
For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, I had a dog trainer come to our house this week to help us. And in not so many words she told me that my dog has no respect for me. While I inherently knew this to be true, hearing it was a tough pill to swallow. After spending only one hour with her I learned not only about my dog but about myself and how to stand up for what I want.
This morning, for the first time in months, I took both my son and my dog out for a walk. What is usually a complete disaster, (dog lunges for other dogs, plops down and decides she doesn’t want to go home, etc) was a really pleasant morning. With what the trainer taught me, I was able to be the “pack leader” with my two ‘kids’ and even had a good time.
While my dog is the most amazing and loving dog 80% of the time, I accepted my “mild dissatisfaction” with her 20% of the time. And truth be told, I didn’t need to accept that. I have a choice to do the work and change that. I think that is the case with a lot of us. We accept dissatisfaction with certain things in our life. I’m not here to say that everything is going to be perfect all of the time, it’s not. But we always have a choice. If something needs to change, what can you do about it? If you don’t know what change to make on your own, who can help you? I challenge all of you to think about where you are accepting dissatisfaction and what you’re going to do about it.
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” – Maria Robinson
All the best,
Suzannah
So encouraging! I have been vegan since December 7th 2009 and I feel fantastic! I am so in control of my life and the food I eat is so yummy and I don't crave any meat or dairy anymore. Life is so good and buying The Kind Diet is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm even making my family meals and my boyfriend. My dad did stop eating red meat but for the other ones in my family, I'm just trying to get them to add Kind foods to their lives. We have one life to live and we've got to fill our bodies and minds with Kind foods and thoughts and people who love us. My whole lifestyle and outlook completely changed thanks to The Kind Diet and The Kind Life. Thank you guys for that!
Wonder if those changes are possible with a cat.?.? ( : I love my Jasper...80% of the time....

HI, everyone. I was just wandering how many people out there are a fan of the movie Avatar? I thinks it is amazing.!!! I have seen it twice and will probably see it again. Thanks Joe
I have 4 dogs....i am the pack leader and they happily listen to me...i don't know why but they do :) fortunate to have a large property so they all run around and play together...nature is good for the soul. I <3 my dogs!!
Hi I also have 4 dogs , 3 of them are rescue's and came with issues. They are 4 little dogs one a Bichon the other is a Pomerian and two are chihuahua's. They are all wonderful and as we brought one in after another we never had any issues with behavior with each other BUT let me tell you when we go out it is a different story. We have a summer home on Fire Island and from the moment we hit the ferry for the entire ride over they are after other dogs, they also for the most part hate men.
I have watched Ceasar and I love him but we have not been able to break this behavior. It is like they all go into crazy mode when they leave the house. The littlest chihuahua is the most trouble at 6 pds she is fierce. So any advice will be warmly welcomed.
Be Well
I totally agree. I have five kids. Most of the time, they are great. But 20% of time x five = a really big headache.
So my rule is, and has always been, pay for it now or pay for it later. Eventually, you are going to have to do the work, so why not do it now and enjoy the benefits!
