There is a film playing right now at select theaters called I Am. It’s a really well-done documentary by Tom Shadyac, the filmmaker who directed Ace Ventura: Pet Detective , The Nutty Professor , and Bruce Almighty .

A complete departure from Shadyac’s huge comedy blockbusters, I Am is an earnest, inspiring look at how human empathy can help to solve some of the world’s big problems. It’s so thought-provoking, and so exciting that it’s been made. It’s very easy to watch, and contains nothing upsetting, but it will inspire you and has the potential to awaken people who are asleep. I’m lucky enough that my sweet and wonderful husband took me to see it last night. I had no idea what I was going to see, and this film ended up being such a treat.

When I saw I Am , I also saw the trailer for Forks Over Knives – and it is sooooo exciting! I got all choked up just from the trailer. I’m so happy this film is out there! It comes out May 6, so spread the word as far as you can about this one – make it your mission to get the world to see it!

Anywho, I Am is in theaters now, so please go see it, and bring all of the people you know…everyone! It’s a good time!

I can’t wait to hear what you think of I Am !

I saw Forks Over Knives out here in Loma Linda.  They had a special showing of it a couple weeks ago.  IT WAS AMAZING.  You all must see it!!!!  I can't wait to own my own copy.

i so want to see this movie...

when i saw a preview of it om moviefone, i was like, i must see it

Well, the trailer has already changed my life.... so I can just imagine what the entire movie will do.  Can't wait to see/hear more of his philosophy. Thanks for the recommendation, Alicia!

And what a sweet surprise for you!  Your hubby is so a keeper!  (Have lots of little baby boys..the world could use more men like your sweetie!)

I saw both documentaries and they were both Awesome!  We went to the premier of  'I am' here in Portland and was able to meet  those behind the scenes.. One of my teenage boys was able to speak to Tom directly and and ask questions. it was so  memorable for my kids.  I can't wait for Forks over Knives to hit theatres nationwide so family and friends can see it...The movie  well done.

Earlier this week, I heard about this documentary through this blog and went to the website and it was playing for one night only in Boston. I took my sister to see it and it was great. The director spoke for about 20 minutes after the film and answered questions. Thanks for the info about this movie. I'm glad I got to experience it.

After watching the trailer here, I couldn't wait to go see the film!  My husband and I took a little road trip to the nearest showing this past weekend and...it...was...perfect.  I can't remember ever seeing a movie that expressed my beliefs so well.  It will make your soul feel happy and refreshed.  I wish more theaters would show it.  Thanks for the info Alicia!  I hadn't heard of the documentary before your post, and I am so glad I took a few hours to watch it.  :-)

Love this!  Had to Tweet it!

I have a question: I am trying to figure out how to post this somewhere or get the link to you alician but I made a petition to help organic farmers and offset funding from the farmers and industries who deal in poison. Shifting the incentives to favor health.

Please check it out and share it if possible or direct me to where I ideally can get this opportunity to help to people who are like minded on the kind life. Thank you

Friends.

I have been trying to figure out new ways to be the change. This is what I came up with today. I have an idea to petition to start changin the system from making organics lable their foods and also pay for audits or organic status. To have big agricorps who poison us pay the bills. Same with GMO food manufacturers and growers. They shold have to pay if they infect another crop right?
so... heres my petition I recently started up. If you agree with these ideas it only takes a minute to open the link and sign:
Please share if you agree and maybe we can change the world foor the better. A lot of people can make a little effort or a little amount can make a HUGE effort. Lets try lots of people and a little effort each ;-)
