Hi everyone - Well, it's the last day of 2009! I can't believe it. We have already had some amazing successes of spreading the kind... we adopted turkeys on Thanksgiving, we did our part to help save Pete the Moose, and we saved Christmas trees by showing a great alternative practice.
I thought it would be a great way to end 2009, and kick off a new year, by activating this community to help further spread the kind.
What I think would be really cool is if all of us take to our Facebooks, twitters, emails... anything you can think of, and spread this message of kindness that we all practice.
Send out messages saying: "my new year's resolution is to live a kinder life" (if you are on twitter, include #thekindlife).
Let's spread this message and resolution to everyone we know! It would be such an amazing and inpsiring thing if this resolution spread like wildfire all day, leading up to New Year's Eve.
Let's ring in a kinder 2010!
I have already put the word out on twitter to read the kind life. We need to save the plant and ourselves. Also a great book to read in 2010 is Eating Animals by Jonathan Foer.
It is about how they process meat in America.
Alicia: I have just recently found your site and am so excited! I have been a vegetarian since high school (with a few "relapses" along the way!). I love your positive thoughts and the goal of The Kind Life! I look forward to reading your book and getting to know the girls on the boards! This is fantastic! My resolution is to lead a kinder life! <3
The Kind Diet- is so amazingly true- it has changed my whole way of thinking- I was on the cusp for about 2 years, and then I read this in December. AMAZING- I am transforming my life and I can't get enough of reading about this lifestyle and the wonderful impact it's had on so many people. I facebooked this and I can't wait to influence friends and family to read. Thank you Alicia.
A Happy Healthy New 2010 to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello... so my New Years resolution... is to get my life back . To take control and put myself first for once. I love being a nurse, but when you put yourself last....you truly start to lose yourself and it effects the most important people around you ... most important...yourself. I have been 75% a Vegan for the last 6 months .... but have fallen off the wagon eating dairy products occationally, but not any more. I am at a point that i feel like i have lost myself and don't really know how. I have gained so much wieight, stopped exercising, given up on my passions, and put all my time and effort into work and making money. All this for what.... nice things, bills paid, but an unhappy me. I truly feel that money is the root of all evil. So if anyone has any motivating words to help me stay focused on being a Vegan and excercising and living a healthy, happy, balanced life.....if you have been in my shoes.. i could really use your encouraging words right now. Thank you!! Much Love to all of you!!!!
Happy New Year! I started my month on the super hero diet yesterday - - been bouncing between lacto ovo, pecto and straight up vegan since I was 12 but I think it's time to stick to the vegan way! The kind diet is such an inspiration and honestly, as much as I love my boyfriend's eggs in a blanket breakfast I can give it up to help out my feathery friends! My New Year's resolution is to live a kinder life @Jennifer - - go on a walk, even if it's colllldd - - I went through a very tough couple of weeks before the holidays and just walking outside, feeling the freezing air on the little bit of my face that was exposed (ha) helped me clear my head, focus and think about where my priorities need to lie. This has become a daily routine and it has given me not only a clearer head but better legs ;) Live in the sunlight.
Happy New year Alicia and fellow kind lifers. Such a lovely little community on here. I wrote a rather reflective blog entry today, new starts and all that and a bit of a heads up to Alicia for writing the kind diet. Much love xx

Hi All! Happy New Year!!
This year 2010 is going to be fabulous! Definitely going to be a Kinder year!
Alicia, I love your site and book. Your an inspiration to all! I look forward to helping inspire all.
XOXO
I have really enjoyed the transition into to a plant based diet, thanks to reading your book. I am totally energized moving into the new year knowing that my daily habits have a global consciousness attached. It feels great!
I have a blog and have chronicled some of my kind decisions, such as my "green" tree (I used an existing potted ficus I already had) pictures here
