sugar IS a drug!

sugar IS a drug!
Good news for our sweet tooth!
I have found an excellent substitue for sugar, thanks to Christina Pirello. She has quite a few cookbooks, 2 that I have used are "Christina Cooks" and "This Crazy Vegan Life". She recommends ERYTHRITOL. It is a natural sugar. It is fermented sugar alcohol. And one of the best things ever is, you won't believe it, but it is CALORIE FREE! It is 70 to 80% as sweet as sugar, works like sugar and is granulated. The brand I found is NOW and it cost me $8.99 for a pound. It also won't rot yours or your childrens teeth and can also be used by diabetics. I used it in the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups and had excellent results. I have also used it in Mini Pumpkin Cakes from Christina's This Crazy Vegan Life. Someday I am going to try the maple sugar. Happy Baking!!!
Agave!!! My mother hasn't eaten white sugar in 25 years. She started substituting with honey in the 80's, then eventually eliminated all sweets including fruit juices. Now she is able to eat desserts sweetened with agave nectar with no side effects. This is the only sweetener she can tolerate, and she says it doesn't make her dizzy, give her headaches, or make her crave sweets like other sweeteners do. No sugar crash! Sounds worth trying to me!
Oh sugar, sugar, sugar, sugar. To go out of my life completely would be a blessing
OK, Alicia...I need your advice! Under the urging of my D.O., I am on a candida cleanse diet. I am taking the anti-fungals and have committed to a colonic or two, even though it goes against my usual rule that my body will take care of itself if I feed it right! Anyway...can you give your opinion on these remedies, and also I have a question regarding sugar: I am not supposed to have ANY sugar of any kind for months. I am going to find this very hard, even though I am feeling better already having cut it out for only a week. My question is, is maple syrup and rice syrup really OK in moderation, even for candida sufferers??
How do I "flag" a post so Alicia might see it? Anyone? Or, does anyone else have any suggestions for my above questions? Thanks!!!
i have been on the candida diet. my nutritionist says no sugar OR anything that your body turns to sugar. i believe the only sweetener that is candida safe is stevia. but if you REALLY need a sweet then use something with a low glycemic index. just dont do it all the time.
also, colonics are my best friend. i get them every 7-8 weeks and i feel like a new person. emotionally, mentally, and physically.
I recently read that sugar is processed with bone char! Ew! How is that vegan? I have such a sweet tooth! On one hand it grosses me out so I eat less, but I LOVE sugar so it makes me sad too!
