Kind Heart
It’s our two-year anniversary!

Two years ago, I posted this video, inviting everyone to join the community. Since then we’ve grown to almost 40,000 kind lifers! I’m amazed and overwhelmed with gratitude - I can’t even believe this community didn’t exist before! You’ve all become such an important part of my life, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your contributions to this site, and to the larger goal of helping everyone to live a kinder life.

From your success stories, to your unflagging support of our animal friends and contributions to important eco-causes, as well as your support for each other, you’ve inspired me time and time again. I can’t wait to see what the next two years hold! I can share with you that there will be some very exciting changes happening to the site in the near future – we’ll be adding more features, and refreshing the design so it’s even easier to interact and find all the features and info you need to know. As we move forward with the redesign, I’d love to hear your input! What do you love and what suggestions do you have for improving the site?

Yay! 2 years is so awesome. I think we all appreciate this site so much, and you cover everything so it's hard to suggest!! Just keep up the good work! I always love reading about eco friendly alternatives for EVERYTHING i.e house, baby, kids, pregnancy, nursing, food, supplements, excercise, pets, automotive, gardening, composting, yoga, travel, life....EVERYTHING! You're an awesome motivator and inspirator, I love coming to your site, you really do have it all here.

I was so excited when this site came about...especially because I thought the book was fantastic! I'd love to see more information on ways to live The Kind Life in extremely rural areas that completely lack resources (aka...groceries) for a vegan lifestyle and with a lack of support. I'm mostly concerned about this for my almost 3 year old son who will be starting school in the near future. I think about someone plopping some meat on his plate and trying to imagine my little boy trying to explain why he doesn't eat it. So, to make a long story short.....agree with some of the other comments. The Kind Diet for kids and The Kind Life in a small town :)

I would like to see it more stream-lined.

Tips on a kind life for kids!! Thanks to your book I became vegan, best decision I have ever made. God bless you for being such a wonderful person! ♥

I've been on a kind journey since August, and I can't wait until I can be vegan with confidence! (I've had a couple slip-ups, but that's part of the learning process) :)

I've scanned some of the responses already posted, so I'm sorry ahead of time if I list something that's already been mentioned:

~drop-down menus for the headings at the top of the page: like how the categories are listed at the side when you scroll down a bit, having a drop down menu under each heading might be easier to navigate

~I really like the idea of more videos (as others have mentioned), whether they be you, interviews, how-tos, etc.

~a search engine for the site: if we're wanting to find a particular recipe, ingredient, kind product, etc. I also like how others suggested reviews and descriptions for products or ways for us to find kind markets and restaurants in or near our area

~guide lists: maybe lists to help newbies, people who live in rural areas where some vegan materials may not be easily accessible, kind lifers with children or relatives not on the kind diet. not extensive lists, but almost like starter's guides to give brief tips and insight and maybe jumpstart their motivation? I know there are helpful tips in the book, too, but what about those who are curious and don't have the book just yet, or want to see what this is about before they purchase it without scanning through numerous webpages?

thank you for helping us on our journey!

I think it would be super helpful to most of us if you (Alicia) posted everything that you ate all day, how you prepared it, how long it took, how many it fed, etc. Of course not EVERY day, maybe one day/wk or one wk/month would really put all the site & the book into its essence. I bet you have some vegan friends that would do this on occasion to give you a break. Perhaps more time consuming than you had in mind but at least for me it would be very insightful & inspiring! Even a weekly video of you preparing a meal or two with a ballpark cost - think about it! I think this would really take some intimidation out of jumping into a foreign recipe. Your book (& site) are amazing, you should be very, very proud. smiley-laughing.gif

Congratulations! I would like to see more affordable vegan recipes. I know organic sometimes means expensive but maybe a list of some great stores where you can find the cheapest organic grocery items. It would also be great if we were able to upload some healthy vegan videos to our kind life profiles.

I'd love to see more about pregnancy, breastfeeding, how our spouses can support us and vise versa, being a new mommy/daddy, etc. Thanks!!! I've enjoyed all the pregnancy items thus far:)
