Urban Food

If you live in LA, and you love cupcakes, listen up! Urban Food Crawl is hosting LA’s first vegan competition Cupcakes + Art on Sunday, November 6 at Hold Up Art. Attend to enjoy a tasting of a bunch of mini cupcakes from super talented vegan bakers around LA, and admire the cupcake-themed art.

Here are the bakers who will be participating:

Amanda's Bakery and Cafe
Babycakes NYC
Bake You Happy
Clara's Cakes
Courtesan Cupcakes
Crushcakes and Cafe
Jamaica's Cakes
Raw Bites
Sweet Alexis
No Udder Desserts

Tickets are $35 – you can purchase them here. It’s a sugar fest for sure, but sounds like a lot of fun and a nice way to meet some fellow vegans.

Have you been on a vegan food crawl in your town?

How I wish there was an event like this one in Toronto!! This is a little far =(

I personally try to avoid pastries and cakes.

They were big part of my undoing before I went vegan. I worked out I was consuming 1000 calories a day from the pastry case at Starbucks!

Of course a vegan cupcake is better for you than a non-vegan cupcake, but they still contain a lot of empty calories.

Vegan cupcakes and art will also be had in my East London home this weekend. It's my birthday and this little artist decided to order delicious vegan birthday cupcakes for the big birthday celebrations. I will let you know how it all went. In the meantime check out http://www.cupcakebritain.co.uk/ for vegan cakes + delivery around London.

One more reason I lived in L.A. already

OMG I SO wish there was more going on in Iowa...The Healthy Taste of LA sounds amazing as well as Colin Campbel, I'd LOVE to meet him! :) Well I will be moving for sure lol, it's amazing how uneducated people here are and how stubborn, I feel out of place every day just by believing animals are not ours to use or abuse :/ Well, I won't quit :) ever!! :)
