It's pretty chilly here in New York!

I recently found these coats by Vaute Couture which are so groovy!  I love the styles, but I love even more is what the company stands for.  They are dedicated to making products that are cruelty free, eco-conscious and high functioning... as well as great style.  It's so cool... they use deadstock and vintage metal buttons.  And I love things with a vintage touch!  Check them out and let me know what you think.

You can find the coats here.  I know they're pretty pricey, but if you're in the market to splurge on a coat, this is a great way to go.  All the proceeds from every jacket sale goes to Farm Sanctuary to help animals in need!  So cool. So you aren’t just getting a coat that you can wear for the next 15 years or so… you are donating to Farm Sanctuary too!

I recently met Leanne from Vaute Couture, and she is so sweet!  She cares so much.  I love that some of the coats are made completely with recycled materials, and that ALL the profits go to Farm Sanctuary, which is such a great charity.

And the best part... all of these coats are on sale, starting today!  Leanne let me know that all of the coats are 35-70% off (depending on style and color) and start at $130 for this end of season special! There are promo codes listed for each style on their website that can be used at checkout.  You can also grab a girlfriend, because you can get ANY two coats for 50% off each! Amazing sale, amazing coats AND for charity!

What are your favorite cruelty free clothing companies?  I’d love to hear about them.

Hi Alicia! I am loving this blog! I have a specific style question for you-I work for Manhattan Theatre Club and at the opening night party for TIme Stands Still you had on the hottest zippered skirt! I trust you as far as responsible sources and materials for clothing and I am dying to know where it came from so I can purchase. I told everyone at MTC how thrilled I was to have a vegan in the building! We had soy milk in the fridge everyday of your rehearsal in our studio and it made me so happy:) I didn't feel like the lone ranger there anymore! And it goes without saying that your performance rocked my world and MTC is so grateful to have such talented, passionate people on our stage!!!
Really cute and very affordable vegan purses, wallets and other accessories are at http://www.espe.ca/. I get these for my friends for their birthdays :-)

I just ordered two. I know they are so spendy but I have wanted them for a long time. Plus living in MN I know I will get my money's worth. I got the El in White and the Vaute in Recycled black. I cannot wait to get them. I will have to wait a while until it snows though... :)  Also, I emailed Leanne for help on which two to choose and she is really kind. I think she is a great and innovative eco designer!

I love these coats they're so cute! I want it! I want it! lol

Preorder for the new coats starts this Wednesday! Yeah! Check out the website:

Do these coats hold up to anywhere from -20 to - 35 degrees celcius?

I'm not sure. You can send Leanne your question at the Vaute Couture website.

During the in-store pre-order sale, I tried on the Airs coat and it was too warm to wear for just a few minutes!  I ended up ordering the Pea and the Belden. Really beautiful coats!
