website update
Posted by Alicia Silverstone on Feb 5, 2010

Hey everyone –  I wanted to give you an update on some cool stuff that we are working on for the website!  EQAL, the tech company who runs the site, is going to be doing a big update on all of their websites tonight, including thekindlife.com!  The update is going to add some new features to the website. It shouldn’t cause any problems on the site, but there is a chance that the site will be down for a bit over the weekend.  So if you come here and the site is down, know we aren’t going anywhere... Just making the site better!  Thanks so much to all of you for your understanding.

Have a great weekend!

Alicia

I tried the lemon and the key lime pie Larabars and they are yummy! Filling too. The lemon zest Luna bar is good too. I like to eat them before my yoga class. They keep my energy up without weighing me down.
I have been a vegetarian for 4 years.  You have inspired me to try being Vegan.  My first mission is to be Vegan for all of Lent (the 40 days and nights leading up to Easter).  I'm counting on your cookbook and website to help me through it.  My only concern...how do you eat when you go out to restaurants with friends?
I made the sweet potato and Lentil stew yesterday and it's soooooooooooooooooo good!!  While it was cooking I read more of the book.  It's a great read!  I'm definitely feeling some of the detox symptoms, hopefully they won't last too long.
My favorite bars are the larabars. They're so simple, they usually only have 2 or three ingredients. They're raw, vegan and most or all are soy free. I love the peanut butter cookie, pecan pie and peanut butter and jelly.
I've been vegan for 7 days now and while I am not as exhausted as I was before this, I'm not feeling any detox symptoms.  The only thing I've experienced was a bad headache Thursday.  I guess I should feel lucky.
I am really enjoying the book and is looking forward to becoming a vegan for "lent". If i can make it through "lent" as a vegan, i may keep it up. Wish me luck. oh i am also considering making my dog (shih tzu) a vegan.

Sterljoy: be careful when considering your dog's diet. I read in this month's issue of natural health magazine that dogs and cats might have some issues with veggie diets. Check it out if not just for good tips and information. Good luck!

I bought Luna bars again after reading the book, but when I looked at their website, they have whey in them. So are they vegetarian or vegan? IF they're not vegan, then I have to dump them and I do not want to. Thanks.
