As a woman who has under gone a layoff followed by 3 HUGE paycuts this is timely advise.  And after browsing through some of the past advise, I signed up with Daily Worth and have already picked up a few great tips...especially the simple idea of bring your own bottle of wine to dinner (even with a modest corking fee it is likely cheaper then buying a bottle at a restaurant).  I'm going to bring this up to my bookclub before our next meeting!!

What a wonderful idea - I am always trying to convince my naysayer friends that it is possible for me to maintain a healthy vegan diet on my limited budget, but I could always use a little financial boost! In this disposable-commodity economy where women are told we carve our identity by being consumers, it's so empowering to be able to build wealth through smart choices.

Thanks so much for posting this!  I'm about to graduate college, and am having severe worries about entering a not-so-great job market with so so SO much student loan debt and a degree I'm not sure will get me anywhere.  This site is just what I needed, and I feel a little better just knowing I have a helpful (and free) resource.  =)

Woah thanks! This site looks like it will have a lot of good tips! :)

I love this idea. I hate how people pretend that a healthy vegan diet is expensive - it IS NOT! I cut food costs by GOING vegan and spend less all across the board because of it (less at the doctors, etc.).

Perfect timing - thanks!!! smiley-wink.gif

i def signed up! just opened my own practice and am struggling

I've been using a budget book to track my spending for about 4 years now and it has helped me immensely in saving some cash!  I find that writing down what I'm spending helps me to curb over-spending on items.  Also, I take out cash on payday for spending rather than using debit...that way I can't just swipe the card and not watch what is coming out of my account...once the cash is gone I know I have to wait til the next payday.  I'm slowly teaching my husband to do the same :-)
